The Collection of Information

1. Catalogues and Flyers
When you ask us for a catalogue or flyer, you provide your contact information so that we can fulfill your request. This includes your name, address, phone number and email address. You also may choose to provide us with information about products that you’re interested in.
2. Purchases in Our Retail Stores
When you purchase a product or service from our retail stores, you may be required to give us contact and payment information (such as credit card information) so that we may process your order. When you pay for our products and/or services using a credit card, we use your credit card information to fulfill the order and for other internal purposes.
3. Purchases through Our Website
If you place an online order with us, you will be required to provide only the information needed to complete the processing of your order and billing (contact and credit card information). We share this information with outside shipping companies and credit card processing companies for the purposes of billing and shipping your order, but we do not provide any more information than necessary for these purposes. We may also use the information to contact you regarding your order.

4. Monk Commercial Accounts
When you open a commercial account with us, you may be required to give us contact and payment information (such as credit card information) so that we may process your orders. Our Monk commercial accounts enjoy payment terms of net 30 days and as such is an issuance of credit. Therefore, we will require banking information for a credit check. This information will be retained on file and will never be loaned, shared or given to another organization unless required by law. You may also provide us with information such as product preferences. Unless you request otherwise, we will retain this information so that we can serve your business needs better and so that it will be available for future transactions.
5. Customer Service
If you contact one of our customer service representatives, we may ask you for information such as your name, address and email address so that we can respond to your questions, comments or concerns. With your permission, we may retain this information towards serving you better.
When you visit our website, we use transient or session cookies which collect information about the pages viewed on our website. A cookie is a small text file that contains information about a user. Unlike a persistent cookie, a transient cookie is not stored on the user’s hard drive. It is stored only in temporary memory. Transient cookies are not linked to any personally identifiable information about you. All cookies can be disabled in your web browser.

Like many other businesses, we do share limited information with service providers we have retained to perform services on our behalf, such as providing mail contact information only, to the company that mails out our flyers for us. These providers must adhere to our Protection of Privacy standards and may only use the information to fulfill the service agreement. They are not authorized by us to use the information other than for the sole purpose of fulfilling the service agreement.

That is why our security standards include administrative, technical, organizational, contractual and the physical safeguards that are appropriate to its sensitivity. For instance regarding online purchases, we use appropriate security safeguards to protect your personal information against loss, theft and unauthorized access.
